Water main rehabiltation 2018

Water main rehabilitation

Summary

The City of Côte Saint-Luc in investing $2,585,000 in the rehabilitation of water main across the city. The work will last from May to September 2018. See the schedule below.

The work

Water mains, sometimes called aqueducts, are the underground pipes through which clean water travels en route to your home. Instead of digging up large stretches of road to replace pipes, Côte Saint-Luc instead uses an equally effective but less costly process called sleeving, in which a mesh in inserted into a water main pipe to reinforce the existing pipe. This process extends the life of water main pipes by 50 years.

A specialized firm, Aquarehab, has been hired to carry out the repairs. The Côte Saint-Luc Engineering Division will supervise and confirm the quality of the work. Please note that that an employee from Aquarehab duly authorized by the city may have to visit your home to check your water connection. Aquarehab will also distribute additional information directly to your home.
