CP to perform evacuation exercise of St. Luc rail yard Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Exercise will include the use of sirens and alarms.

CP will be executing a practice evacuation exercise of our St. Luc Yard on Tuesday, October 14, between 10:00 and 11:00 AM EST.

This exercise will mimic the same steps taken should a real emergency occur. As such, the use of sirens and alarms are necessary. These sirens are quite loud and may be heard in nearby communities, particularly Côte Saint-Luc and Hampstead. Nearby residents are asked not to call 9-1-1 if sirens are heard coming from the rail yard during this evacuation exercise.Questions can be directed to CP’s Community Connect line prior to or during this exercise at 1-800-766-7912 or by email at Community_Connect@cpr.ca.

In the case of a real emergency, the best point of contact is 9-1-1.

Thank you for your participation in helping us continue to be a leader in rail safety and emergency preparedness.
