Côte Saint-Luc Library unveils what’s on for spring and summer 2015

The Côte Saint-Luc Library is hosting a public preview of its spring and summer events on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 pm at the Harold Greenspon Auditorium, 5801 Cavendish Blvd.

Programs department staff will present highlights from the upcoming season, serve refreshments, and give away tickets to some of the most anticipated events. Brochures containing all programs details are available at the Côte Saint-Luc Library or at csllibrary.org/programsandevents.

“It’s a new season of cultural happenings at the library with concerts, author appearances, and art events,” said Councillor Mike Cohen, the council member responsible for the library. “The preview event is good way to hear first-hand about what’s coming this spring and summer.”

Avid readers can stock up on books for spring and summer reading at the Côte Saint-Luc Library spring used book sale, happening Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 from 11 am to 5 pm. Prices start at 50 cents and all proceeds go towards the future purchase of a baby grand piano.

The Côte Saint-Luc Library’s first musical event of the spring will feature the critically-acclaimed Molinari Quartet playing a concert of classical music from the 20th and 21st centuries on Thursday, April 23 at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 and are on sale now.

On Wednesday, April 29 at 7 pm, educator and therapist Susan Wener will be at the Côte Saint-Luc Library to discuss her memoir, Resilience, which tells the story of her recovery from two bouts of cancer. Critics have praised Wener’s memoir as “a 'must read' for everyone but especially for those who have had cancer affect their lives or the lives of their friends or family.”

The Côte Saint-Luc Library Art Gallery will feature an exhibit of photographs by Fiona Annis entitled The After-Image (Swan Songs). Art lovers are invited to a vernissage on Thursday, April 30 at 7 pm. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibit runs from Thursday, April 30 to Thursday, May 21.
