Côte Saint-Luc to host the 2015 Book Bash Children’s Literature Festival

The annual Book Bash Canadian Children’s Literature Festival is moving from its regular home in Toronto to the Côte Saint-Luc Library on April 25 and 26, 2015.

“The 2015 Book Bash Canadian Children’s Literature Festival celebrates the joy of children’s literature,” said Councillor Mike Cohen, who is responsible for the library portfolio. “We’re proud that this annual Toronto event is in Côte Saint-Luc this year. It’s the first time the event has come to Quebec.”

Book lovers will meet seven Canadian authors and illustrators at this free family-friendly event. There will also be two story-time events, mural painting, a caricature artist, face-painting, a marionette show by Panadream and more.

Authors will be present both days to introduce their work to the audience, as well as to sign autographs and answer questions. Saturday’s authors are Faith Erin Hicks, Alan Silberberg, Anne Bernard-Lenoir and Helaine Becker. On Sunday, the event welcomes Marie-Louise Gay, Roslyn Schwartz and Rhéa Dufresne.

“This is an opportunity for children of different ages to meet the creative minds behind some fantastic and inspiring children’s literature,” said Library Director Janine West. “Everyone is welcome.”

The family story-times are on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am. The Book Bash paper mural painting activity is on Saturday at 2:30 pm. Kids can draw inspiration from Marie-Louise Gay and create their own versions of her icon characters, Stella and Sam, on Sunday at 2:30 pm. See the full schedule at CSLLibrary.org.
