Green Patrol

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is participating for the first time this summer in the Green Patrol Program, managed by the Conseil regional de l’environnement de Montréal. With the help of a federal subsidy, the city has hired two summer students to distribute information about environmental issues of importance in Côte Saint-Luc and across the island. You can recognize our two green patrollers, Jenny Cho and Heidi Monk, by their bright green t-shirts! Feel free to ask them questions about recycling, hazardous waste collection, and other environmental programs in Côte Saint-Luc.

The CSL Green Patrol is working on the following campaigns in 2007:

  • Expanding recycling to multi-family dwellings
  • Increasing participation in the blue box recycling program
  • Promoting the proper disposal of hazardous household waste (HHW)
  • Reducing unnecessary vehicle idling
  • Encouraging composting and green gardening practices
  • Organizing presentations with summer camps and community groups
