Prior to 1972, Cote Saint-Luc had its own police department. When the Montreal Urban Community was formed that year, it created a regional police department, responsible for the entire Island of Montreal.
Côte Saint-Luc is home to the Montreal Police Department Neighbourhood Station 9, located at the corner of Cavendish Blvd. and Kildare Rd.
This station serves the City of Côte Saint-Luc, the Town of Hampstead and the Town of Montreal West.
