Public Notice: Public Consultation Meeting - June 14
MODIFICATION TO THE CITY’S PLANNING PROGRAMME PURSUANT TO A REDEVELOPMENT OF THE CAVENDISH MALL
TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE DRAFT BY-LAW NUMBERED 2316 AND ENTITLED:
“By-law to amend By-Law 04-047 in order to modify the Planning Programme of the City of Côte Saint-Luc”
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the Undersigned, Director of Legal Services and City Clerk, that following the adoption by Resolution of the above-mentioned draft by-law at a Special Council meeting held on Monday, May 17, 2010, the Council of the City of Côte Saint-Luc will hold a public consultation meeting on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the City Hall situated at 5801 Cavendish Boulevard, in accordance with the Provisions of the Act respecting land use, planning and development.
The object of the meeting is to discuss the proposed changes to the Planning Programme of the City of Côte Saint-Luc.
A summary of said changes is as follows:
The City wishes to approve a re-development plan related to a significant portion of the property where the Cavendish Mall is currently located (5800, Cavendish Boulevard). The Plan will include a mix of residential and commercial uses.
The modification to the Planning Programme will thus allow the area concerned by the re-development to have, in particular:
- An increase in the building density of the sector;
- Continuity in terms of the street layout; and
- Development of parks and pedestrian paths in order to create a proper living area next to a commercial hub.
At this Public Consultation meeting, the Mayor and possibly, in addition, a member of Council, will explain the draft by-law and the consequences of its subsequent adoption and will hear the persons and bodies wishing to be heard.
The draft by-law does not contain provisions making it subject to approval by way of a referendum.
The draft by-law as well as the above-cited summary are both available, free of charge, for examination at the City archives, located at 5801 Cavendish Boulevard during regular working hours, said hours being Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
