Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club Open House
The Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club held its annual Open House on Saturday, May 23 with a slightly different twist. The club, located on Guelph road just west of Wentworth Ave, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Special activities including free instructional clinics, which were presented by seasoned pros and headed by Lior Doron.
Two special attractions during the afternoon events included the club recognizing several original members dating back to 1959. Souvenir tennis shirts commemorating the 50th anniversary were presented by Club President Jeff Nashen and Côte Saint-Luc City Councillor Allan J. Levine to Benny Linds, David Sigler, Jack Margolis, David Caplan and Ed Cape.
In addition, the club was privileged to host an exhibition match with Canadian National Tennis Champion Marianne Gareau. Marianne recently captured the National Tennis Championships in Calgary, in her age category of 12 years and under.
The club is continuing to accept new season memberships. Anyone interested should contact club manager Ros Richman at 514-487-7862.
A special thanks goes out to the many hard working volunteers and staff who contributed to the success of this event.
