Snow clearing in CSLThe City of Côte Saint-Luc has rules to ensure that snow removal is done in a safe, timely and effective way. Residents are called upon to do their part to help make their roads safe this winter. Once precipitation has stopped, the accumulated snow along the edge of these roadways is removed by our snow-blowing equipment.

New synthetic ice rink opens for the holidays

The new synthetic ice surface at Rembrandt Park (near Kildare Rd.) will open on Saturday, December 24, 2011 and operate daily from 10 am to 4 pm until Sunday, January 8, 2012 inclusive.

Here is the schedule:

  • 10 am to noon: Skating only,  no sticks or pucks
  • 12 noon to 2 pm: Hockey for children age 13 and younger
  • 2 pm to 4 pm: Hockey for people age 14 and older

During the holiday period, there will be no fees to use the ice as the community is introduced to the new surface.

Blood donor clinic in Hampstead on Wednesday, December 7

Hema Quebec blood donor clinicHéma-Québec and the Town of Hampstead are hosting a special holiday blood donor clinic at the Irving L. Adessky Community Centre (30 Lyncroft) on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 2 pm to 8 pm. A whole blood donation takes about 10 minutes. The entire process takes about an hour.

CSL presents brief to EMSB on Tuesday, December 6

Tuesday, December 6, 7:15pmThe English Montreal School Board will soon vote on a proposal to relocate Royal Vale High School to the former Wagar building on Parkhaven Avenue. Côte Saint-Luc strongly supports this proposal and will be presenting a brief to the EMSB consultation meeting on Tuesday, December 6 at 6000 Fielding Avenue (corner Côte Saint-Luc Road).

Cavendish lane closures during non-rush hour period

Cavendish Blvd. will be temporarily narrowed to two lanes (one in each direction) during the non-rush hour period (9:30 am to 4 pm) between Kildare Rd. and Mackle Rd. from Tuesday, November 1 to Tuesday, November 8, 2011 so that construction crews preparing the infrastructure at the new residential development can excavate electrical trenches. All lanes will be open during the rush hour period and on weekends.

The City of Côte Saint-Luc and parents who support moving Royal Vale High School from NDG to Côte Saint-Luc are co-hosting an information meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 7:30 pm to get feedback and build support for the move, which is currently being studied by the English Montreal School Board, or EMSB.
