How to place the blue bin for collection
Here is what you must know regarding this new automated process:
· Place your recyclable material inside the Blue Bin (paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, metal).
· Place your blue bin at the edge of your driveway (but not on the street or sidewalk) with the logo facing the street and the wheels facing the home. Leave at least 2 feet (0.6 meters) on either side of the blue bin, which is needed for the mechanical arm to safely lift your blue bin.
· Ensure that nothing is covering the lid and that it is well closed.
· Make sure nothing else on your driveway is in the way.
· Do not leave any items (boxes, cartons) on the ground or overflowing from the bin. These items will not be collected.
· Your old blue box and bagged recyclables will not be collected anymore.
In order to insure the best possible price for the collection and in an effort to save money, 13 cities have entered into a contract with RCI to have their recyclables collected. Please note that these rules apply to all 13 cities (from Dollard des Ormeaux to Hampstead). They are meant to allow for the mechanized collection of all our recyclable materials at a fixed price per door.
Thank you for your cooperation.
