Recipients of the 2009 volunteer awards
The recipients of the 2009 Côte Saint-Luc volunteer awards are listed below. Congratulations to all the award recipients and thank you to everyone who volunteers their time for our community.
- William E. Kesler Memorial Trophy—Recognizes a volunteer for exceptional contribution to the Parks and Recreation special events programs. This year's award goes to Bernard Pont.
- Community Services Award—Recognizes a volunteer for exceptional contribution to the community special events programs. This year's award goes to Mindy and Irving Schok.
- Royal Canadian Legion Brigadier Frederick Kisch Br. #97 Award—Recognizes the Youth Volunteer of the Year, a “leader of tomorrow”, for outstanding efforts in making a difference in Côte Saint-Luc through volunteer activities. This year's award goes to Kevin Barnes.
- Socio-Cultural Award—Recognizes a volunteer for exceptional contribution to the Parks and Recreation socio-cultural programs. This year's award goes to Roz Agulnick and Harold Greenspon.
- Special Recognition Award—Honours a volunteer for significant contribution to parks and recreation activities over a number of years. This award recognizes special achievements at the community level. This year's award goes to Rhonda Shechtman.
- Hazel Lipes Award—Recognizes a volunteer for their exceptional contribution to the Community Services Programs. This year's award goes to Beverley Rath.
- Lifetime Achievement Award—Recognition of a lifetime of outstanding contribution and dedication. This year's award goes to Mollie Udashkin.
- Emergency Medical Services Award—Recognizes a volunteer for outstanding contribution, dedication, and leadership to the Emergency Medical Services. The first EMS award for excellence in operations goes to Rafael Aroutunian. The second EMS award for excellence in education goes to Jarred Knecht. The third EMS award for rookie of the year goes to Phil Vourtzoumis.
- vCOP Award—Recognizes a volunteer for outstanding contribution as a leader in the promotion of community safety. This year's award goes to Susan Schwartz.
- ECO Award—Recognizes a volunteer for demonstrated leadership in the promotion of environmental advocacy and action within the community. This year's award goes to Alison Levine and John Sciascia.
- Ambassador of the Year Award—Honours the Côte Saint-Luc resident best portraying
charitable qualities and serving the community at large. This year's award goes to Al Grosser. - Sports Award—Recognizes a volunteer for exceptional contribution to the community
sports programs. This year's award goes to Jack Rosenfield. - Stewart Mankofsky Memorial Trophy in recognition of an athlete / volunteer who best exemplifies the qualities of dedication, sportsmanship and love of competition. This year's award goes to Matthew Zeitz.
- Edward J. Kirwan Award—Honours the Volunteer of the Year for exceptional contribution to the community parks and recreation programs. This year's award goes to Cynthia Segal-Friedman.
