Canadian Open DanceSport Championships return to Côte Saint-Luc on Saturday, September 23, 2017

The Côte Saint-Luc Gymnasium is home to 2017 Canadian Open DanceSport Championships and World DanceSport Federation events competition on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 1pm to 11pm.

This is the sixth consecutive year that DanseSport Québec is holding the events in Côte Saint-Luc.

“I watch this event every year,” Mayor Mitchell Brownstein said. “It’s truly a magical sport and a dance event.”

The Canadian Open DanceSport Championships will be presented by DanseSport Québec and provide an opportunity for some of the best dancers to compete for the title of Canadian Open or WDSF Open Champion.

Dancers of all ages, from juvenile to senior, and from all regions of Canada, the United States and Europe, will present the judges and spectators with their best efforts in both Latin and standard styles of dance. The elegance of the Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep will be showcased, with dancers dressed in elegant ball gowns and tailcoats. In addition, the sensual and invigorating rhythms of Latin music will liven up the atmosphere, as dancers perform the Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.

Tickets can be purchased online at or at the door. For more information, call 514-418-8264 or visit their website.

The Côte Saint-Luc Gymnasium is located at 5794 Parkhaven Ave. in the City of Côte Saint-Luc.
