Supervisor – Parks and Sport

The city of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33 000. The city prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently seeking a: 

Supervisor – Parks and Sport, Parks and Recreation Department

(Contract: April – October)

 

Role: Under the direction of the Section Manager of Athletics and the Arena, the Supervisor will organize and control the work of a team whose mission it is to ensure the smooth running of activities and programs offered in the various parks throughout the city. Depending on the season, the number of hours will vary between 20 and 40 hours per week, and will take place in the spring, summer and the fall, in the evenings and weekends. The Supervisor will oversee unionized blue collar and white collar employees who maintain and lease city-owned parks.

 

Key responsibilities:

Monitor and act as a resource person for employees under their responsibility

Ensure respect for park rental hours and the smooth running of their activities

Proceed to the opening and closing of the parks, when necessary

Collect cash received on evenings and weekends

Set up various bulletin boards

Ensure a presence at parks and special events

Process requests and complaints and determine appropriate action

Provide quality customer service to citizens

Ensure all department policies and procedures are followed

Ensure the application of the health and safety rules of the prevention program

Perform any other related tasks

 

Qualifications and education:

High school diploma

Valid class 5 driver's license

Up to date CPR course

At least one year of relevant experience

Knowledge of Office Suite

Sense of diplomacy

Autonomy

Sense of organization

Good priority management

Bilingual English / French, spoken and written

 

Salary and benefits:

The salary is 20$ an hour. 

 

Schedule:

From mid-April to mid-October. Depending on the season, the number of hours will vary between 20 and 40 hours per week, mainly in the evenings and weekends. The exact schedule remains to be determined.
