Project coordinator - Engineering

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33 000. The city prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are looking to hire a Project coordinator - Engineering.



Under the responsibility of the engineering manager, the project coordinator will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects and will be required to provide a set of services such as study, design, plans and specifications related to his field of expertise. He is also responsible for providing support and providing the expertise needed to implement departmental strategies.

Key responsibilities:

Ensures the completion of various projects by determining work plans, methodologies, timelines and costs.

Coordinates the various stages of the projects entrusted to him with the various stakeholders and ensures compliance with the legislation, regulations and standards in force.

Designs and conducts studies, research, inspections, analyzes necessary maintenance costs estimates, repairs, modifications, renovations, construction or demolition and produces recommendations.

Finds solutions to unforeseen problems encountered on construction sites in collaboration with the professional firms assigned to the project.

Verifies plans and work performed by subcontractors with respect to compliance with applicable regulations, standards, guidelines, budgets and timelines.

Provides external professionals with all the information required for project implementation.

Establishes lists of deficiencies to recommend temporary acceptance of work.

Prepares tenders for various subcontractors, analyzes contract performance issues, researches appropriate solutions, and provides guidance, modifications, and recommendations to supervisor.

Responds to residents' requests.

Monitors various construction sites.

Prepares and updates AutoCAD drawings and plans for various municipal services as well as updating cadastral plans.

Issues excavation permits for underground utilities.

Maintains knowledge of products, standards and technologies available in its area of ​​expertise.

Provides technical support and acts as a consultant.

Performs any other related tasks.


Qualifications and education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or any other degree or relevant professional experience (Attach the proof)

Member of the OIQ (Attach the proof)

One (1) to three (3) years of professional experience in the municipal sector or any other relevant domain

Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Office Suite software

Excellent communication and writing skills in French and English

Ability to work in a team and ability to solve problems

Attention to detail and ability to work in a team
