Public Notice: Requests for minor exemptions
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the Undersigned, Me Jonathan Shecter, Clerk of the City of Côte Saint-Luc, that at a Regular Meeting of the City Council to be held on October 18, 2010 at 8:00 P.M., at 5801 Cavendish Boulevard, the City Council will render decisions for requests for minor exemptions, said requests being more fully described hereunder:
7400 Côte Saint-Luc, Lot 1290383, Zone RM*-14
The request is in order to allow a multifamily dwelling with complimentary uses to have a free standing double sided sign identifying more than the name and address of the building and having a total area of 35.5 square feet instead of having a free standing sign identifying only the name and address of a building and a maximum total area of 20 square feet. The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of by-law 2217, article 9-3-2 and 9-1-3g).
5885 Cavendish, Lot 1561126, Zone RM*-39
The request is in order to allow a multifamily dwelling with complimentary uses to have a free standing double sided sign identifying more than the name and address of the building and having a total area of 37.6 square feet instead of having a free standing sign identifying only the name and address of a building and having a maximum total area of 20 square feet. The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of by-law 2217, article 9-3-2 and 9-1-3g).
5560 Glencrest, Lot 1561266, Zone RU-5
The request is in order to allow a single-family detached dwelling (built in 1954, under permit no. 46) to be located at 3.05m (10’) from the side property line instead of the minimum allowable distance of 4.57m (15’). The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of by-law 2217, Annex “B”, zone RU-5.
5914 Beethoven, Lot 1560843, Zone RU-52
The request is in order to allow for a single-family detached dwelling to have:
- a patio adjacent to an in-ground swimming pool to be located at 0’-0’’ from the rear lot line instead of the minimum of 2’-0’’ and at 0’-0’’ from the side lot line instead of the minimum distance of 3’-0’’. The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of zoning by-law 2217, in particular, article 4-4-5c); and
- the total area of the rear yard of a main building covered by a combination of a patio around an in-ground swimming pool and a balcony to be 81.4% instead of the maximum of allowable coverage of 50% of the area of the said yard. The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of zoning by-law 2217, in particular, article 4-4-6.
6613 Regal, Lot 1561161, Zone RU-4
The request is in order to allow an existing detached single-family dwelling (built in 1954, under permit no. 90) to be located at 3.41m (11.18’) from the side property lot line (facing Northluc) instead of the minimum required distance of 4.57m (15’). The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of zoning by-law 2217, annex “B” (Zone RU-4).
5604 McMurray, Lot 1053321, Zone RU-23
The request is in order to allow an existing single-family detached dwelling to have a part of its double garage’s width at 17’-0’’ instead of the minimum distance required of 18’-0’’. The foregoing is in accordance with the provisions of zoning by-law 2217, in particular, article 7-5-1.

6525 Merton, Lot 1560668 Zone RU-2
The request is to allow an existing detached single-family dwelling to have part of the driveway width at 22’-0’’ instead of the maximum required distance of 21’-0’’ (permit no. 13131) and an underground swimming pool to be partly located at 3.74’ (1.14m) from the rear property line instead of the minimum required distance of 5’-0’’ (1.52m) (permit no. 13615). The said exemption shall be adjudicated upon as per the Certificate of Location dated October 28, 2009, minute No. 10699 and prepared by Mr. Daniel Morin, land surveyor. The foregoing requirement is in accordance with the provisions of Zoning by-law 2217, in particular, articles 7-2-2 and 5-1-1c).
