Côte Saint-Luc residents invited to Public Information Session on new Valuation Roll for 2007-2008-2009

CÔTE SAINT-LUC, SEPTEMBER 15, 2006 - Côte Saint-Luc residents are invited to attend a Public Information Session on Monday, September 18 at 7:30pm at City Hall (5801 Cavendish Blvd.) to learn about changes to the valuation roll and how those changes might affect property taxes for residents.

The average property assessment in Côte Saint-Luc increased by 36 percent. By comparison, the average property assessment for 16 municipalities of the Montreal urban agglomeration increased by 41 percent.

The assessment role represents the inventory of all properties in Côte Saint-Luc and indicates its quantity, characteristics and value. The new assessment role is the basis for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 tax bills for residents of Côte Saint-Luc.

The Côte Saint-Luc City Council will provide more information about the new valuations at the Public Information Session and explain how it might affect residents. This will be the first information session held on this topic on the Island of Montreal since this week's release of the
assessment rolls for the 16 municipalities of the Montreal urban agglomeration.
