Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club to serve homeless Montrealers at Old Brewery Mission on December 7, 2006

CÔTE SAINT-LUC, NOVEMBER 14, 2006 – The Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club will be serving homeless Montrealers at the Old Brewery Mission on December 7 from 4pm to 7pm. The group has also made a donation to the Old Brewery Mission.

"We believe strongly in giving back to those who need it the most," said Archie Moss, President of the Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club. "Many of us grew up in humble surroundings and we have never taken for granted what we have. It is a great joy for us to help feed those who are hungry."

Sam Goldbloom, the Côte Saint-Luc councillor responsible for the seniors portfolio, says this annual activity demonstrates how seniors in Côte Saint-Luc are a vital resource for the community.

"We are proud of the Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club," said Councillor Goldbloom. "They have a wealth of experience and a desire to do good things for others in the community. They are an invaluable resource."

TD Canada Trust will also be donating $5,000 to the Old Brewery Mission again this year, bringing its five-year total to $25,000. Ms. Teta Filacouridis, the manager at the Westminster branch, Paul Lelievre, the district vice president for the Quebec region, and bank staff will also be serving meals.

"We are very proud to join the Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club for the fourth consecutive year in serving meals at the Old Brewery Mission," said Mr. Lelievre. "We believe strongly in giving back to the community and to such a worthy cause."

The TD Canada Trust branch at Westminster supports or participates in many community initiatives including R.A.G.S. Poverty, Maple Leaf Lodge, Walk in Her Shoes, Share the Warmth, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Canada. It also sponsors a breakfast for the Côte Saint-Luc Senior Men's Social Club.
