Musical concert for children in Côte Saint-Luc

Annabelle CantonCôte Saint-Luc, February 10, 2011 – A production of the children’s musical Annabelle Canto will be performed at the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library on Sunday, February 27 at 10am.

The 40-minute concert is presented in English and is aimed at children age 3 and older. Space is limited and tickets are available in advance for adults and children for $5 at the main desk of the library.

“This is a great event for families,” said Kathy Conroy, Manager of Children’s Services. “This musical blends music, theatre and storytelling. We hope to see both new and familiar faces at the show.”

The musical tells the story of a young opera singer named Annabelle Canto who loses her voice and her memory the morning of an important concert. Using spontaneity, innocence and humour, Annabelle Canto and her pianist, Henry, set out on a quest for this magical voice. Along their musical route, they discover astonishing and majestic opera characters. A short video of the concert is available at www.jmcanada.ca/en/main_nav/concerts/young-audiences-families/concerts/annabelle-canto/.

Annabelle Canto is presented in partnership with Jeunesses Musicales of Canada, which has dedicated its work to musical excellence and the promotion of young artists and music for young people since 1949.
