A Russian Rhapsody at the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library

 

Winter PalaceCôte Saint-Luc, October 1, 2012 – The Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library will be offering three exciting Russian-themed programs this Fall.

First, on Thursday, October 4 at 7 pm, Duo Romantika will be performing four-hand piano repertoire by some of Russia’s greatest composers such as Rachmaninov and Borodin. Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the library’s main circulation desk.

Next, Professor Lars T. Lih will give three lectures dealing with topics spanning more than 1,000 years in Russian history on Friday afternoons at 2 pm on October 12, 19 and 26. Tickets can be purchased for $3 in advance at the library’s main circulation desk or for $5 on the day of the lecture.

Finally, bestselling author Eva Stachniak will be at the library on November 1 at 7 pm to discuss her latest novel The Winter Palace, this year’s selection for Côte Saint-Luc Reads: One City, One Book. First launched in 2008, this community-wide reading initiative was created to promote a love  for books in our city. This event is free of charge. Light refreshments will be served prior to this event, starting at 6:30 pm
