Consumer Health Complete at the Library

Côte Saint-Luc, May 21, 2014As of May 1st 2014, the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library will provide access to Consumer Health Complete, an electronic resource from EBSCO Information Services that provides comprehensive trustworthy health information.

From the library’s website, members can search this online encyclopedia designed to support the information needs of patients and to foster an overall understanding of health-related topics. Consumer Health Complete provides content covering all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated medicine.

This resource offers a well-rounded collection of articles from a variety of relevant sources including journals, magazines, books, pamphlets, images, videos and more. Of note are the more than 250 included full-text health reference books and encyclopedias such as American Medical Association Complete Medical Encyclopedia, Mayo Clinic Family Health Book, Royal Society for Medical Health Encyclopedia and many more.

“The library is proud to add another title to its collection of electronic resources, Consumer Health Complete is just one of the many offered to members,” said Councillor Mike Cohen, who is the councillor responsible for the library. “Others include ProQuest’s Newsstand for those who like to read Canadian newspapers, and Consumer Reports to help you make better shopping decisions. The library also has online encyclopedias for researching school projects and a resource called Novelist to help you find the next great book to read.
