Côte Saint-Luc, December 15, 2010 – Large-scale collages of NDG alleyways by artist Andrea Kastner will be on display at the Art Gallery of the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library from December 16, 2010 to January 23, 2011.

All About Richler at the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library

Côte Saint-Luc, December 10, 2010 – Two special events surrounding the life of author Mordecai Richler will take place at The Eleanor London Côte Saint–Luc Public Library next week.

The library will present a screening of the biographical documentary The Last of the Wild Jews on Thursday, December 16 at 2pm. Then on Friday, December 17 at 2pm author Charles Foran will speak at the library about his new biography Mordecai: The Life and Times.

Côte Saint-Luc, November 9, 2010 – The works of artist Sarah Bertrand-Hamel will be on display at the Art Gallery of the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library from November 11 to December 12, 2010.

The exhibit, entitled Replay, includes a series of images that encourages one to re-examine the concepts of perception, reality and deconstruction.

Open House for all at the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library

Côte Saint-Luc, October 8, 2010 – On Sunday, October 17 from 10am to 5pm, the public can tour the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library as part of an open house event.

Non-members and members are welcome to attend the open house, which also includes children’s crafts, face-painting, and balloon animals. Morning refreshments will be served and guided tours around the library are taking place every 15 minutes. Used books will also be for sale.  

Inspired baroque: Arion Ensemble performs a classical concert in Côte Saint-Luc

Côte Saint-Luc, October 7, 2010 – The Arion Ensemble will perform a live concert in Côte Saint-Luc on Wednesday, October 13 at 7pm at City Hall, 5801 Cavendish Blvd.

This 10-person baroque ensemble will perform works from Fasch and Telemann on period instruments that include winds, strings and a harpsichord. Hailed by critics for their clarity and gusto as well as for their expressive performances, Arion promises to entertain and delight.

Arion has toured Europe, Asia and North America, and has produced more than 25 CDs.

Library pulls strings to entertain kids

Côte Saint-Luc, October 7, 2010 – The Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library will be hosting the Panadream Marionette Theatre on Sunday, October 17 at 2pm.

Six string marionettes with be acting out the story of a fearful young boy named Yorgo. He has never left his house, but instead spends his time with Buttons, his adorable dog. When Buttons goes missing, Yorgo braves his fears, and fueled by love and courage, he goes out to find his missing pet.

Getting into the act: Côte Saint-Luc public library launches theatre club

Côte Saint-Luc, September 24, 2010 – The Côte Saint-Luc library will launch a Theatre Club this fall for members who want to attend shows at the Centaur Theatre in a group.

To join the club, members of the Eleanor London Côte Saint-Luc Public Library must purchase a Centaur Theatre season pass at the circulation desk of the library. Club members will then receive free, round-trip transportation to the Centaur Theatre in Old Montreal during the scheduled outings.
